Song of the Roma

Song of the Roma is a music documentary featuring Eva Salina, a singer from Brooklyn, NY. Eva and her Serbian accordion partner, Peter Stan specialize in the music of the Balkan Romani people, also known as "Gypsy" music. Through exploration of the melodic and invigorating songs she sings, Eva dispels the myth of “Gypsies” in order to reveal the multifaceted, rich layers of the Roma musical tradition. Song of the Roma premiered at the Southeast European Film Festival LA (SEEFest) in 2018 and was nominated for Best Short Documentary.
