Director's Biography:

Andrea Wozny has worked in documentary film and television for twenty years. Her most recent film Bagpipes Calling! premiered on PBS public television stations throughout the country in March of 2022. Over the years she’s worked for award winning companies AMC Networks and the Media Education Foundation, as well as Cabin Creek Films under two-time Oscar winning documentary filmmaker Barbara Kopple.  Andrea's independent and commercial film work has been broadcast on PBS, CNN International, BBC World, the National Geographic Music Channel, and the United Nations media outlets. She has also presented her work at the International Conference on Refugees and Migration at the UN headquarters in NY and Geneva. 

Andrea has had producing roles on numerous music and culture oriented films that have been accepted into festivals worldwide – including Agadez, the Music and the Rebellion, Delta Rising: A Blues Documentary, Searching for the Fourth Nail and her own short film Song of the Roma, which was nominated for best documentary at the 2018 Southeast European Film Festival LA (SEEFest).  As a musician, she is a proud member of the United Nations Orchestra (clarinet) and the Northport Pipe & Drum Band (bagpipes).  Her company, Cinevera Productions was founded in order to produce films that celebrate culture, honor the dignity of the human spirit and encourage compassion amongst people throughout the world.  She attended Smith College where she studied studio art and is a graduate of Wesleyan University with a degree in Sociology. Most recently, Andrea was honored at the annual Heckscher Museum of Art Celebrate Achievement Benefit 2023, due to her pursuit of “original scholarship that explores new pathways in American art, and commitment to inspiring current and future generations.”
